The Name Game

Photos sourced from the artist's cellphone library were printed out and painted on using paint colours whose names correspond to the photograph's subject matter. For instance using a paint called "sky blue" to paint over top of the sky in the picture. Drawing a comparison between the named colours and the subjects they are meant to represent through the lens of a cellphone camera. These 'paintings' are then scanned at a high resolution and reprinted at a larger size, wherein details in the paint can be seen clearer than in the original painting, drawing attention to the materiality of the paint even in its physical absence.
