An exploration in creating a visual representation of a musical artist's performance of a particular piece of music. Performance requires movement and these still images enable the possibility of capturing the the sequence of movements in a single frame that represents the totality of the performance. By capturing the movements of the pianist's fingers through an entire performance, the rhythm and flow of the music are visually represented through the clustering or streaking of light as time is compressed into a single image. The images recorded were part of an experimental process in which lights - In red, green, and blue - attached to the pianist's fingers were used to create a light painting of the spatial and temporal aspects of a piece of music as it is played creating a photographic representation of a song.
